Highland Park Book Fair Luau

Book Fair may be over but don't be sad if you did not have a chance to get that favorite book.  There is still time!  We will be having an online Book Fair now until February 24th.  Simply go to scholastic.com/schoolbookfairs.  The proceeds from the online book fair will still go toward the Highland Park library.

We want to thank everyone who volunteered.  The Book Fair could not have happened without you.  A very special thank you goes out to Ray Calderon.  Thank you, Ray for getting the family night dinner and the breakfast foods for Donuts with Dad.  You are amazing!  Also thanks to all of you who shopped at this year's event! Scotties definitely love to read and the Highland Park library will be better because of it.  Thanks again from Christy Savage, Ellen Ray, Cheryl Mullins, and Stacy Mendelson.

Calling All Fit Star Moms & Scottie Mothers on the Move

Did you know that amongst our illustrious Scottie Moms we have a Wondrous Water Polo Player, a Tap Dance Star, a Yoga Guru (and human pretzel), a Hockey Fanatic, a Roller Derby Queen, a Marathon Madwoman, a Tremendous Tri-Athlete, a Walking Wonder, and one Tough Cookie?  And these just to name a few...... Research shows that as children grow and decide whether they will adopt a physically active lifestyle, physically active Mom's are an instrumental role model in that process. That said, if physical activity is a regular part of your life - from Fitness Fiend to Just For Fun -  we'd be honored if you would boast and brag about your prowess, accomplishments, and physically active way of life. We will dedicate the bulletin board outside the cafeteria (by the gym) for our FIT STAR MOMS - Scottie Mothers on the Move! Click on the links for two different picture and information templates (both are for 4x6 pictures, but one template accommodates a picture in landscape position and the other accommodates the picture in portrait position). Turn your picture and form into Coach DeLine before we break for the Winter Holidays.  And SPECIAL THANKS to Team Wilson for their help and contributions.  Baron, as always is a logo and graphic genius, and if it wasn't for Stephanie's black eye, we might never have collaborated to put this idea together.   Thanks and keep moving.

Best,

Jim DeLine

Donate to HP (including Fling Sponsorships) and Double Your Money for Free!

Do you want to double the money you donate to the Highland Park Elementary PTA without it coming out of your pocket? Many companies have a corporate match program, where your contribution to the PTA is matched, dollar for dollar, by your corporation or its charitable foundation. (Full disclosure: these programs would allow you to donate to many other non-profit organizations beyond just the PTA).

Some companies even have matching programs for donations commensurate with the amount of volunteer time spent by their employees (i.e. if you work 10 volunteer hours for the PTA and report them to your volunteer matching program, your company will make a donation to the PTA based on these 10 hours of volunteered time).
